MAPPING NOTTINGHAM'S SACRED SPACES

Mapping Sacred Spaces is a collaborative project which aims to promote discussion about what it means for a space to be “sacred”. Using our research alongside the thoughts and opinions of the people of Nottingham, we have created a map all about Nottingham’s sacred spaces.

Starting by examining interpretations of the word “sacred”, we studied different sacred spaces in Nottingham to find the commonalities and differences between them. We then took our research to members of the public to gauge which spaces people hold sacred, and why that might be.
