Mapping Nottingham's Identity began in 2016 and has since continued to expand and develop its contributions and research through workshops and exhibitions.

2015

While Mapping Nottingham's Identity was started in 2016, Ana Souto's research into memory in Nottingham began in 2015 with a research project, A Space for Memory, and a subsequent exhibition at the university.

2017 saw the continuation of the work carried out in Carrington in 2016, beginning to open the discussion and expand the research to include people from all over Nottingham, developing on the new research methods trialled previously.

2018 saw the completion of the Drawing Nottingham map as illustrated by members of the public. This research was then presented at various exhibitions and conferences and formed a good framework for future research into Mapping Nottingham's Identity.

2019 was the beginning on exploring sacredness and sacred spaces in Nottingham, starting with mapping sacred spaces using the methods previously developed in our Drawing Nottingham (2016-2018) study.
